This vine is suited for white wines, and is grown in Germany, Austria, France, and Switzerland.
The cluters are, depending on ripeness, grey or blue-red, and conical, dense.
The grapes are long, pressed and thin peeled.
The taste is fruity, spicy, but not suited to be eaten.
A wine estate with tradition! The Villa Calcinaia estate has been in existence since 1527 and presents really good wines. The Casarsa is particularly successful.
